Involve the kids in the kitchen and together create many Halloween treats. To have fun together and to cook seasonal recipes is not as hard as it sounds.
You know that the kids love popcorns. Now you can prepare the favorite popcorn balls together. You will need some butter, yellow and red food coloring and cooked popcorns. Melt the butter in a large pot. Separately melt some marshmallows and now the kids can add the food coloring. They have to reach an orange color. Stir the mixture very well and add the popcorns. The kids can shape the balls in different sizes or give them the shape they want. Help them to wrap the balls in cellophane and tie nice curling ribbons.
Create together scary skeleton hands. You will need only clear serving gloves and miniature marshmallows. Fill the gloves with them and tie the top of the glove. For more realistic look you can place and a scary man’s ring.
Make Halloween cookies in the traditional colors - yellow and black. They will look like small sandwiches. Leave a packet with your favorite cookies in the fridge for 1 hour, and then cook orange icing cream. When the cookies are cooled, spread some of the icing cream and place another cookie over the cream. Put them in the fridge again for 30 minutes. The children can prepare these cookies even without your help.
The children can help you to make edible eyeballs, too. You will need, 1/2 cups peanut butter, 1/2 cup soft butter, 350 g white chocolate, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and 450 g powdered sugar. Mix together peanut and soft butters. When they are very well mixed add the vanilla and powdered sugar. Let the kids to form small balls of the mixture and put them in the refrigerator. Melt the white chocolate and take the balls out of the fridge if they are hard enough. Dip each one in the chocolate, but keep its top. Cool them again and refrigerate for another 30 minutes.
