Healthy Halloween Treats


Healthy Halloween sounds unusual, right? If you are one of the mothers who know that the kids will get plenty of sweets, and want to prepare some more healthy Halloween treats, without compromising the Halloween spirit, why not try these recipes. The kids and their parents will be pleased.

Honey popcorn balls
You need:
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup sugar
Butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
5 cups popped popcorn
Combine the sugar, honey and 1 tablespoon butter in and melted it. Then pour over the popcorn and stir with wooden spoon. When the popcorn is coated, leave separately to cool for 30 minutes or until can be handed. With some butter, grease your hands and shape popcorn balls. To keep the balls fresh, cover them lightly.

Spicy soybeans
You need chili powder, garlic powder, salt, vegetable oil and 3 cups dry soybeans.
First you have to soak the beans to shorten the cooking time and to improve their flavor and appearance. You can soak the beans in a large bowl; for 0.5 kg dry beans you need 6 cups of water. Then leave them for about 8 hours at a room temperature. But if you do not have so much time, then you can heat the water and boil the soybeans for five minutes. Cover the pot and leave it for one hour. When the beans are ready, drain and rinse them. Then spread on a greased cookie sheet and sprinkle with salt, garlic and chili powder. Bake for around an hour and stir in every 10 minutes, till the beans are lightly brown.

Caramel apples
It takes only 15 minutes to prepare these delicious apples. All you need is:
Sticks for apples
5 apples
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cream
1/3 cup nuts
In a saucepan mix honey, sugar, butter and cream. Cook for 10 minutes and stir constantly. When ready leave to cool for 5 minutes. Insert the sticks into the apples and dip them in the hot mixture. If your kids love nuts, roll the top of the apples into the chopped nuts. Leave the apples on a waxed paper to dry.
